Vakantie outfits zonder stress: zo pak je stijlvol & slim in - Olivia & Kate

Summer is just around the corner and that means: holidays! Whether you're taking a city trip, road tripping or relaxing on a tropical beach, there is one thing that always remains a challenge: packing your suitcase. What are you taking with you? How do you ensure that you look stylish every day without dragging your entire wardrobe with you? Don't worry, we at Olivia & Kate have put together the ultimate guide for you. This way you can pack without stress and with style.

1. Think in outfits, not in separate items

The biggest mistake when packing is taking loose items of clothing without thinking about how to combine them. Make combinations in advance: a top that you have two different ones skirts can wear, or a pants which is casual with sneakers during the day and chic with sneakers in the evening chop. Think in terms of capsule wardrobe: a few versatile items that you can mix and match endlessly.

How to pack your holiday outfits smartly

2. Choose lightweight materials and neutral tones

On holiday you especially want to be comfortable. So choose airy fabrics such as cotton, linen and viscose. These are breathable, wrinkle less and take up little space. In terms of colors, we recommend neutral shades such as beige, white, light gray and sand color. These easily combine with each other and immediately give you that effortless holiday look.

3. Invest in iconic basics

A good basic wardrobe is key. Think of a white one blouse, a black midi skirt, denim shorts and a linen jumpsuit. These are timeless items that you wear every summer and that never go out of fashion. That's exactly why these must-haves are also in our "Our Icons Are Back" collection. Check it out here for the ultimate holiday basics.

4. Accessoires: small in size, big in impact

Want to upgrade your outfit without extra kilos in your suitcase? Accessoires are your best friend. Think statement earrings, a colorful scarf or a sunglasses with character. They take up little space but can transform a simple outfit into an Instagram-worthy look.

5. The perfect shoe combination

Take a maximum of three pairs shoes Bring along: comfortable sandals for the day, a pair of neat slippers or espadrilles for the evening, and sneakers for active days. Choose neutral colors so you can combine them with all your outfits. Leave those high heels at home unless you really can't live without them.

6. Pack smart = take more with you

Use packing cubes or vacuum bags to save extra space. Roll your clothes instead of folding them; this prevents wrinkles and saves space. You stop accessoires in your shoes and fill empty corners with socks or underwear.

7. Think about layers for different temperatures

Even at sunny destinations it can cool down in the evening. Get a light one sweater or oversized blouse for the cooler hours. One denim jacket or linen blazer is also perfect: lightweight, stylish and easy to combine.

8. Plan your outfits every day

May sound exaggerated, but it really works. By planning an outfit per day (incl accessoires and shoes), save you time and stress every morning. Plus: this way you avoid taking too much with you.

9. Don't forget your swimwear (and cover-ups!)

Whether you go to the beach or lie by the pool: swimwear is indispensable. Choose at least two different bikinis or swimsuits, so that you always have something dry. Don't forget a nice kimono or airy one dress to wear over your swimwear when you go to a beach club.

10. Minis & must-haves: your smart toiletry bag

A smart one toiletry bag can make your holiday a lot more relaxing. Go for minis of your favorite care products such as shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen and facial cream. This not only saves space in your suitcase, but also weight — ideal if you travel with hand luggage only. Also, don't forget to purchase refillable travel bottles so you can bring your own products in small quantities. Put your liquids in a transparent toiletry bag, which is useful when flying and gives you an immediate overview. And tip: take a mini dry shampoo or multi-functional balm with you for a quick touch-up on the go!

11. Provide entertainment and relaxation along the way

Besides fashion, don't forget comfort and fun on the road. Bring a good book or an e-reader, download your favorite podcasts or playlists, and don't forget your noise-cancelling headphones. A silk eye mask or small neck pillow can also work wonders on long flights or train rides. This way you arrive at your destination not only in style, but also relaxed.

12. Last but not least: feel good in what you wear

The most important rule: only bring clothes that you feel good in. Holidays are the time to relax, shine and enjoy. So choose outfits that make you feel confident, comfortable and completely yourself. Because nothing is more stylish than self-confidence.
